1 planet living

In time, the world’s population must only use the resources of 1 Planet,  which in reality is all we have. In the previous section we learnt what we have to do to get to 2 Planet living;  now we require actions and initiatives to come from government, business, industry, local authorities, or groups.

Examples are:

• building standards altered to minimise new build energy loss
• legislation on packaging for it to be more easily recycled or composted
• regulations requiring manufacturers of electronic equipment to minimise their standby energy consumption

At the start of each topic, we sometimes list key advocacy topics that you can use to pressurise these big players to act.
